STEVE COFFEY 'Into The Sun' 2023
This LoFi recording was written and performed in my art studio during the COVID 19 pandemic lockdown. During that time and outside of my steady practice of oil painting, I delved back into music but this time writing,
performing and producing everything myself. (with the exception of 3 fine individuals- Lydia Coffey- vocal, piano on Lynn; Grace Coffey- Ukulele on Northern Most Home & David Mockord- Synth on Children Fly)

STEVE COFFEY & THE LOKELS 'Bovine World Rail' 2015
This record was fun to create, But at a peculiar time; Right after my sister died of cancer (the song-closure) and right before I was diagnosed with it. It was mostly captured in our hundred year old n some house in the breakfast room. We crammed ourselves in there in a cold January and created. Some songs conceived on the spot, others from years gone past including a live Karma Local Arts House performance in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with Songwriter Steve Relf. Produced by Russ Baker, Performed by Russ, Me, Lance Loree, Dave Bauer with guest drummer, the legendary Ray McAndrew with additional guests; Songstress Toby Malloy, Edmonton artist Tammy Cooper and percussionist Mark Arnison.

STEVE COFFEY & THE LOKELS 'Live at The Empress Theatre' 2014
On a cold wintery night in November, myself, Dave Bauer, Russ Baker, Lance Loree and Kevin Belzner took to the stage and a full house at the historic Empress Theatre in Fort MacLeod, Alberta, Canada. What a great night and great audience.

STEVE COFFEY & THE LOKELS 'Twirlin' Girl Boogie' 2011
A Ralco radio supported album. This piece of work was finished but not finished and there's the charm in my opinion. It was a case of less is more and don't add what isn't necessary. Russ Baker and I weaved our way through recording and producing and ended up with an album which defined a key moment with this strange band. Pat Phillips was on board (my little brother) and We even had Matt Herne record banjo tracks in Australia and ship to us digitally. We Recorded all over the damn place actually. Band- Me, Dave Bauer, Russ Baker, Pat Phillips and Lance Loree with 'Lokel floats' Toby Malloy and Matt Herne.

STEVE COFFEY & THE LOKELS 'East of East Coulee' 2002
We were invited by the late great Alberta Artist Marcel Deschenes to settle in to The Atlas Coal Mine Tea Room in East Coulee, Alberta for a unique off the floor, to tape, recording session in the dead of a Canadian winter. So we did. And with our seemingly good luck (he might consider his bad :o)) there was a fella that happened to be there from Australia that played (a mean, fun lovin') banjo by the name of Matt Herne. The rest is history. And the rest of us- me, Lance Loree, Dave Bauer & Russ Baker (who handled the TEAC tape and mixer along with baritone guitar duties) recorded this first Lokels album. If you listen closely we also captured ghosts that quietly joined the merry music making. There's a film (face in the steel) all about it in the link below

TalkLIKEJoe was essentially the band version of The Kitchen Boys (Steve Coffey & Jay Bigam). Adding members Trevor Bigam & Russ Baker TalkLIKEJoe fused elements of country, rock and folk. The band released one album engineered & co-produced by then Edmonton producer Dave Mockford of infamous Monster Tracks Studio fame. We received an artist spotlight on the early MuchMusic channel in Toronto. Trippy. Special Guests: Kim Jorgenson, Morag Northey, Larry Reece
